FLC#19 - Albert Canela & Mariona Vendrell / Succes Vinicola

In 2011, Albert Canela and Mariona Vendrell created Succés Vinícola at the tender age of just 20! Using indigenous grapes from their native Conca de Barbera in Catalunya, Succes have forged an admirable reputation in the natural wine world. They were one of the first producers to vinify a still red wine from the native Trepat grape which was historically only used for adding colour to rose Cava (sparkling wine). Albert sources Succés’ fruit from older, organically farmed vineyards owned by local abuelos and continue to push the boundaries of what’s considered possible in the region with organic farming and low intervention winemaking.
